Do you think I look like my mum?……

What can I say about “R”?…..We`d arranged to meet one Friday evening but it was one of those where I was meeting him straight from work which I`m never really happy about as I always feel a bit grubby.Never the less I made an effort and arrived on time as R was busy trying to find a parking space. We`d had a bit of banter on-line and spoken on the phone and I have to admit I`d mentioned to hubby that he might have sounded a little bit camp once I`d spoken with him but hubby was having none of it. “For god`s sake! Give him a chance!” says he who has cancelled dates before now due to the fact that the guy has sounded a bit camp but then I said “Well apparently he`s a member of the Cliff Richard Fan Club” hubby agreed that this is a bit odd but what harm can it do? So here we were R and I one nice summer evening enjoying a drink and I have to say that he was really good company with all the tales he was telling me (but I suspect that`s what they were tales) but I was having a good time and yes I had noticed in the first sentence that he was quite camp so I was surprised to hear about all his ex GIRLfriends.
Another thing that surprised me was that on R`s profile he said he had no children but apparently he has a drug addict son who he doesn`t want to talk about at all until two drinks later and I hear all about it.R had this son arrested last year and has more or less disowned him but the surprise for me was the fact that he blames his ex-wife as to how this son has turned out, R has also had a long term relationship with someone who had two very young children when they met and they were teenagers when R left.”Do you still have any contact?” I asked him. “No and it`s their loss.I don`t care”. We then got onto the subject of his mother who`s been dead a while but as she`s been on various tv programmes ” (a clairvoyant apparently) I was shown footage of her back in the 80`s and R turned to one side showing his profile and said “Do you think I look like her?” What can I say except “Oh god of course you do!” because he obviously wants to hear this. The best tale though was when he had a girlfriend back in the 70`s (R was married) who went home one Christmas to her parents and he never saw her again due to the fact that her dad stabbed her mother and sister after hearing about mother`s affair.Nobody died, and everyone lived happily ever after (really?)and it was all forgiven and forgotten.I reckon that this girl was pretty desperate to get rid of R, that`s what I think……
